Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a comprehensive system of medicine that originated in China over the last 2500 years. In contrast to the somatic (disease-related) and microscopic (detail-oriented) approach of Western medicine, TCM represents a functional and holistic medicine.

In TCM, the health of every human being depends on a balance between the opposing forces of yin and yang. As long as yin and yang remain in balance, the body and mind are healthy. However, if one of the forces becomes excessively strong or too weak, it leads to imbalance and disease. Tuina Tuina is an independent manual, physical healing discipline. It is one of the oldest complex manual therapies and an important part of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Acupuncture Acupuncture is a treatment method of TCM in which a therapeutic effect is achieved by needle pricks into acupuncture points located on the meridians to correct the disturbance in the flow of Qi (life energy).

Moxibustion or Moxa (heat therapy) In moxing, small amounts of dried, fine mugwort fibers are glowed on or over specific therapy points. The heat affects the flow of Qi in the underlying meridians.

Cupping Cupping is a skin stimulation therapy that is one of the draining procedures. Cupping glasses placed on the skin are used to expel harmful substances through the skin and stimulate Qi.

Gua Sha A rounded edge of a porcelain spoon or buffalo horn is scraped over an area of skin several times until there is a noticeable discoloration and bleeding under the skin. This method also stimulates the Qi and gets it moving.
