Practice for acupuncture Maria Chèvre

Acupuncture regulates the flow of energy (Qi). This takes place mostly directly under the skin, but also reaches the deeper tissues of the human body. This kind of channel system runs through the whole body in a net-like manner. These energy-carrying channels, the so-called pathways, come to the surface, where they then become accessible as meridians for therapy with various treatment methods. These meridians are closely interrelated with the organs, which are divided according to Yin and Yang.

In addition to two major meridians that lie on the midline of the back and front of the body, there are 6 yin and 6 yang major meridians. On these 14 meridians there are 361 classical acupuncture points (stimulation points).

Each acupuncture point closely interacts with an organ system.

When needles are inserted into an acupuncture point, energy is either added or withdrawn. This causes the blocked Qi energy to flow again - the main cause of pain.

The exact mode of action of these points is constantly being researched. It has been proven that it works via the nervous system through the so-called endorphins (the body's own pain-relieving substances), via the hormones, the activation of the blood vessels, the strengthening of defense mechanisms and via the relaxation of the muscles.

A similar effect is also caused by cupping, moxibustion (heat treatments with hot herbs), Gua Sha (special scraping technique) and various types of massage.
