Acupuncture Acupuncture is probably the best known method of traditional Chinese medicine in the West.

The human being is traversed by a network of various meridian systems, on which about 360 classical acupuncture points are located. These meridians connect the surface of the body with organs and other structures of the organism. Thus, acupuncture can specifically influence various organ functions through specific points on the body.

The aim of the treatment is to reach and model the Qi (life energy) in its pathway system by inserting needles at the acupuncture points.

Moxa Moxa is an effective form of therapy using a dried medicinal herb called mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris), which is native to both Asia and Europe.

It is burned over acupuncture points or specific areas of the body. This creates a deep heat in the tissues, never coming into direct physical contact with the smoldering herb.

Shonishin Shonishin was developed in Japan for the treatment of infants, toddlers and children.

However, this method of therapy can also be used on very sensitive or debilitated adults, as well as disabled people.

Instead of acupuncture needles, Shonishin uses various blunt instruments. Gentle stroking, pressure and tapping techniques are used on the surface of the skin.
