For thousands of years, the Chinese have used acupuncture to treat and prevent ailments. This traditional, non-medicated medicine regularly proves its worth, in everyday cases as well as in extraordinary situations. Thanks to its results, it has been exported throughout the world. It's a natural way of healing that doesn't take its toll on the body. Unfortunately, in emergency or critical situations, acupuncture is not enough.

On the other hand, state-of-the-art otolaryngology provides effective and often rapid treatment of ailments affecting the head, neck, nose, mouth, throat and ears, as well as the trachea and respiratory tract. This is a comprehensive specialization, covering a large number of the body's organs. New treatment techniques and drugs are constantly being developed, with ever more convincing results.

These two medicines are therefore both very different and effective, but also very complementary. I've studied them for many years and regularly attend further training courses, which enables me to offer my patients solutions that are sometimes unusual, but which bear fruit.

I therefore offer consultations for ENT problems only, as well as classical acupuncture sessions. However, wherever possible, I try to combine the two forms of medicine to provide the best possible care. With my years of experience, I know the limits of action of these two medicines, but above all, I see the opportunity of these treatments. So, when some doctors might feel that they've done all they can, I try to broaden the spectrum of treatment possibilities, throughout Switzerland. All my services are reimbursed by basic health insurance (LaMal) and supplementary insurance.

Although acupuncture is not recommended for treating emergencies, it has proved its worth in treating chronic illness and pain, as well as allergies, neuralgia and many other disorders. The aim of this medicine is to treat the body's functional problems. That's why, as a doctor, I practice acupuncture alongside my other specialty, ENT medicine. Together, these two approaches to treatment can unblock situations of pain and illness that seem difficult to treat.
