Franco Schianni Began studying Naturopathy in 2003 at S.I.M.O. (Italian School of Holistic Medicine) in Milan, Italy, where he graduated in 2009 with a specialization in Vibrational Medicine.

In 2006 he began training as an acupuncturist at the Tao School in Bologna, where he graduated in June 2012.

In 2011 he attends a 600-hour course in Academic Medicine in Lugano, which he finishes in 2012 by passing the cantonal exam, for licensing as a Complementary Therapist and Acupuncturist in Canton Ticino.

In 2013, he is licensed for the profession of Acupuncturist by the Health Office of the Canton of Ticino. Recognized for the same profession by the main Registries (RME, ASCA, EGK) that guarantee the quality of training to the main Swiss Health Insurance Funds.

Acupuncture is an ancient technique; needles have been found in tombs dating back to 300-400 B.C. and beyond in China. It is one of the branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is also recognized, given its efficacy, by the WHO with regard to a wide range of diseases of all kinds.

Acupuncture It consists of placing disposable needles, fabricated from surgical steel, in special points which, when stimulated by the needle, produce the movements of Qi (energy) and consequently the rebalancing between Yin and Yang, the two progenitor substances of which the universe and also human beings are made. The result is improvement or disappearance of symptoms and a return to a healthy state.

Complementary techniques In addition to acupuncture, there are also what are called Complementary Techniques, a series of methods that flank and complement the work of the needles.

Moxibustion, a technique that is probably more ancient than acupuncture and involves heating points or areas with Artemisia, an herb also found in our latitudes. Cupping, on the other hand, involves applying glass or bamboo suction cups along energy pathways or in particular areas to mobilize underlying tissues and allow better circulation of qi, fluids and blood. The Plum Blossom or Seven Star hammer, is a hammer with seven small prongs that causes local mobilization by unblocking stasis.
