Traditional Chinese medicine has been practiced as a healing science for more than 2000 years and is constantly being developed. It is considered an alternative or complementary medical procedure.

The term "Qi" plays a key role in Chinese medicine. It is a dynamic based on balance. If the balance is sensitively disturbed, it needs the doctor, who with his experienced view, and in conversation with the patient, determines the cause of the disturbances.

According to the Chinese doctrine of illness, the inner disturbances appear in a differentiated way on the outside. Accordingly, there are diagnostic procedures such as pulse or tongue diagnosis.

In pulse diagnosis, the quality of the pulse is analyzed. There are more than 20 different pulse qualities, which allow the specialist to make a differentiated diagnosis.

In tongue diagnosis, the color and shape of the tongue, as well as the tongue coating, are analyzed. They provide important indicators about the condition of various internal organs.

Various methods are used in combination to treat diseases and as prophylactic measures. The six most important methods, all of which we offer in our TCM practice in Lucerne, are:

Recognition by health insurance companies The therapists of Swiss Acupuncture Center are members of the associations Erfahrungs-Medizinisches-Register (EMR), the Stiftung zur Anerkennung und Entwicklung der Alternativ- und Komplementärmedizin (ASCA). We are also recognized by the health insurance companies Visana and EGK. The treatment costs are covered by the health insurances according to the supplementary insurance. Depending on the health insurance, a maximum of up to 90% of the treatment costs are covered.
