The oldest books - the so-called classics - which describe the theory of Chinese medicine comprehensively and holistically, date from the last centuries B.C. During the next two millennia, many different currents emerged, most of which dealt with one aspect of the classics. Thus, today we have a highly diversified Chinese medicine.

Traditionally, Classical Chinese Medicine does not divide the body into several independent organ systems. Rather, it views the body as an "energetic" entity. Thus, Classical Chinese Medicine treats holistically, which means, for example, that in the case of skin diseases, one does not treat the organ system skin, but the internal cause as a whole. This allows Chinese Medicine to cover an extremely broad spectrum of internal medicine. For complaints of the musculoskeletal system and partly of the nervous system, manual therapies and acupuncture are mainly used.
